Dec. 12, 1889 The Morris Eur. & Am. Ex. Co., L't'd., 18 & 20 Broadway, New York City Your favor of 10th instant, notifying me of the arrival of two cases addressed to myself, containing marble statue &c., by S. S. "La Normandie," from Havre, and requesting me to send you invoice specifying value &c., is duly at hand. ### I have received no invoice of this Statue, and the only verification as to its value with which I can furnish you, is the original cablegram, announcing its purchase, received by me from my agent in Paris, Mr. W. J. Hammer, and which I attach hereto. As stated in the cablegram referred to, the price paid for Statue was eight-five hundred francs. Yours very truly, [signed] Thos. A. Edison
