- Editor's Notes
- Upon my return after an absence of ten days, I find you letter of 13th instant, asking for information in regard to G.M. Gouyard. This man is a first class mechanic—in fact, the finest workman in Mr. Edison's employ, and with a little training on the phonograph, he would prove to be an excellent Chief for your Mechanical Department. Mr. Edison does not think that he has the executive ability necessary for the work which you particularly refer to—that is the organization of your service in Mexico. This is a matter that a man with less mechanical knowledge and a greater amount of business qualification, could handle to better advantage. Yours truly, A.O. Tate
