- Editor's Notes
- [writing to Gouraud at 74 Madison Avenue, NYC] Dear Sir:--When you were at the Laboratory the other day, I spoke about the phonographs which have been asked for by the German Government. We have received a letter from Dr. Werner Siemens, in which he states that the Government is very anxious to obtain these machines for the public schools in Prussia, and Mr. Edison believes that it would be very desirable to present them with what they require. He is willing to bear half the expense of carrying this idea into effect if you will beat the other half. Kindly let us hear from you at once. Yours very truly, A O. Tate Private Secretary.
