- Editor's Notes
- I am advised by the North Am. Phonograph Co. that they very often receive my invoice for goods without a bill of lading. They receive a receipt which will not take the place of the bill of lading. Kindly see to it that the Edison M'f'g. Co. sends a bill with each shipment. ### Another complaint they make is, that they do not receive bill for goods shipped till several days after shipment. All the other concerns they deal with send the bill the day of shipment, or at the farthest the next day. ### They make still another point, that when they give shipping directions these shipping directions should be carried out to a letter. For instance, on a recent shipment they instructed you to mark the goods via "Erie Dispatch, Chicago, Minn. & St. Paul," the result was that the goods did not get to their destination as quickly as they would otherwise. ### I am also asked to call your attention to the price of paraffine oil sold in connection with our new battery. This oil was billed to the N.A.P.Co. at 15 cents per bottle. They consider this an extremely high price and think it should be reduced. ### Another report is, that parrafine oil is not included in the parts of the battery, whereas they have always understood heretofore that the paraffine oil was so included. They claim also that you have increased the cost of several parts of the battery while you claim to have reduced them. For instance, you now charge for the rubber lug 10 cents, whereas you originally charged for the lug 2 ½ c. They hope that you will lock into the costs of parts, and so rearrange them as to admit of getting in the price of the parrafine oil as one of the parts, and still not make the cost of the battery more than three dollars. Kindly let me know at your earliest convenience what you think of their claims, and oblige. Yours truly, James F. Kelly "phono quantities"
