Dear Sir:-
I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of 8th instant, in regard to four presentation phonographs. It is quite impossible for me to get these ready in time to ship them this week. We will advise you as soon as they are ready, which will be, we anticipate, on Saturday, and you can then tell us what to do with them.
As Mr. Edison's only interest in presenting these machines to the people to them they are going, is to assist your business in those countries, I think you should hear such portion of the expense as may be represented by the freight and cost of delivering the instruments.
Yours very truly,
A.O. Tate
