Dear Sir:-
With reference to your postal card under date 24th March, addressed to Mr. John Ott, concerning a bill which you claim is due you by O. S. Wiley, I beg to inform you that we handed to Wiley on the 22nd of August, 1888, TWENTY-ONE DOLLARS, covering your bill dated August 5th, 1888, which he presented to us receipted by yourself. I enclose herewith copy of the receipted bill in question, which covers the expense incurred by Mr. Edison and the three gentlemen who accompanied him on the occasion of his visit to Greenwood Lake in the summer of 1888. This is the only visit which Mr. Edison made to Greenwood Lake, and if you have any other bill outstanding against him we would be glad to have you inform us of it.
