Dear Sir:-
Referring to your letters of 10th and 12th instants, in regard to patent #438,310, issued to me October 14th, 1890, for improvements in lamp bases, and to your request that I execute the form of assignment of this patent to the Edison General Electric Company, I beg to say that the invention is subject to the terms and conditions of what is known as the Laboratory Contract between me and the Edison Gen’l Electric Co., as it was made during the progress of the prolonged negotiations of this contract. I have expected the assignment and return it to you herewith. If for any reason you should consider that I should not execute the same at this time, you can hold it
