March 18, 1891. Madison Maginn, Esq., c/o S.W. Child, Esq., #115 Broadway, New York City. Dear Sir:- Replying to your letter of 16th instant, in regard to your new and improved Water Motor and device for the development of large water power under high falls, Mr. Edison is very much obliged so you for your offer to show him the plans of your invention, but he is not interested in the subject of the same and will therefore not trouble you in the matter. The Edison Company has nothing to do with the water power part of the Niagara enterprise and knows nothing about that branch of the business; it is interested only in the necessary electrical equipment. Yours truly, AO Tate Private Secretary.
