Dr. James Milner Coit,
St. Paul’s School,
CONCORD, New Hampshire
My dear Sir,-
Major S.B. Paine, the Manager of the New England District of the Edison General Electric Company, has forwarded to me your card, together with a letter, informing me that his Company is negotiating with you for the installation of a lighting plant in St. Paul’s School. I am pleased to learn that you are contemplating the purchase of an electric lighting outfit for your School, and I have to-day written to Mr. Paine, saying that if you decide upon adopting the Edison systems and awarding the contract to his Company, that he (Mr. Paine) must see to it that you are furnished with the very best plant that we can construct, and one that will embody all of the latest improvements. Rest assured that if you favor the Edison Gen’l Company with the order, they will supply you with a plant which will be satisfactory in every respect.
Yours very truly,
Thomas A. Edison
