June 25, 1891 My dear Mr. Childs,- I am very much obliged for the copy of your “recollections” which you kindly sent to me. I have read the book from beginning to end, and there is not a dull page In it. Your reminiscences are delightfully entertaining, and many of the incidents and events to which you refer are of such interest, historically and politically, that the world will be grateful for the information which you convey concerning them. The great charm of the book, however, it’s in my opinion the kind, humanitarian feeling which pervades the whole of it, and which somehow makes one feel better after having read it. With sincere regards and good wishes Believe me, very truly your friend. Thos A. Edison George W. Childs, Esq., Philadelphia, Pa.
