July 29, 1891.
Major S. B. Eaton,
Edison Building, Broad Street,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
The Township Authorities of West Orange desire the Edison Phonograph Works to deed to the Township that portion of Watchung Avenue which abuts the property of the Works. It seems that a formal transfer of this part of Watchung Avenue has not yet been made to the Township. I enclose herewith a deed which was forwarded to me for my inspection of Mr. Rufus Mean, of Orange, the representative of the Township Committee, together with a letter from Mr. Mead. It appears that all the other property holders on Watchung Avenue have signed a similar deed. Is it all right for the Edison Phonograph Works to execute this document? An early reply would be much appreciated.
Yours very truly,
A.O. Tate
Secretary.
