45/68 September 3rd, 1891 J.W. Gladstone, Esq., Silver Lake, N.J. Dear Sir:- I have just received a telephone message from the Laboratory stating that they have not yet received from you the report upon which the LaLande royalties were based, which should have been prepared not later than the 26th of last month. I cannot understand how it is that we have so much trouble to get reports from Silver Lake. You do not seem to appreciate the necessity of getting these things out promptly. There seems to be a lack of system, which is most annoying. Has it not occurred to you that we are under contract with LaLande to mail this report, and to remit at certain stated periods? It is just as easy to get this report out on the day that it is due ten days afterward, and I must insist upon more attention being given to statements which I require to have made up in your office. I have been trying for three months to get from you a profit and loss statement, but up to date have not received it. You have informed me orally that it was ready, but no copy has been sent to me so far as I am aware, nor has any information been given me of the reason of its being held back, or of the date when I may expect to receive it. Very truly yours. A.O. Tate No enc.
