J.W. Gladstone, Esq.,
Edison Manufacturing Company,
Orange, N.J.
Dear Sir:-
I return herewith letter from the Superintendent, Engineer and General Manager of the Philadelphia Company who makes us to share in the loss of broken Carboys. If we make this concession to the Philadelphia Company I see no reason why we should not make it to all the other companies. Please bear in mind that we are not selling this solution in competition with anyone else. The Illuminating Companies are obliged to obtain it from us and it is not necessary for us to make any concessions to them whatever. Therefore you can write to Mr. Marks a polite note declining to accept this proposition.
Yours very truly,
A.O. Tate
