Sept. 29, 1891.
F. S. Gorton, Esq.,
The Chicago Edison Company,
Chicago, Illinois.
My dear Gorton,-
I have read your letter of 22nd instant in regard to the new station for Chicago. The delay which has occurred in finishing the plans has been really unavoidable. I have insisted on a complete canvass being made of the district which I originally laid out and in which I will shortly be able to indicate the area in which the three stations can be placed and the total ultimate size of each station. I was in New York a few days ago and inspected the work in the draughting room of the Edison Gen’l. Electric Company, and at my suggestion the force was increased and some changes were made in the method of preparing the plans. all of which will greatly facilitate the work. You may rest assured that this matter is receiving the fullest possible attention, both by the Edison Gen’l Elec. Co. and by myself, and when the work is finished you will have reason to congratulate yourself for the commendable patience which you have displayed.
Yours very truly,
Thomas A. Edison
