Nov. 24, 1891.
A. O. Tate, Esq.,
Edison Building, Broad Street,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
Re packing of musical records. In a letter received from the Ohio Phonograph Co., dated Nov. 20, 1891, they say:
“We have to suggest that your method of packing is not quite as satisfactory to us as that adopted by most of the local companies, namely, by putting the cotton batting around the cylinder and then inclosing in a small pasteboard box. We seldom have any cylinders broken when packed in this manner.”
In a letter received from the Georgia Phonograph Co., dated Nov. 20th, enclosing an order for 50 records, they say:
“We would prefer for you to pack this order in the round boxes in place of the square. There is less danger of breakage and a saving of expense to us.”
Yours very truly,
Thomas Maguire
