Dec. 11, 1891.
J. B. Walker, Esq., Sec’y.,
Asheboro Lumber & Mfg. Co.,
Asheboro, N. C.
Dear Sir:-
Mr. Edison has read your letter of 28th ultimo, directing his attention to a mineral property which you control. In reply I beg to inform you that Mr. Edison spent a few weeks in North Carolina about two years ago, examining ore depots, but he was frightened away from the State by the exorbitant prices which were asked for properties. It is his intention to visit your region again some time in the future, but it will not be for a year at least. He cannot therefore consider at the present time the proposition which you make concerning the property referred in your letter.
Thanking you for your communication
I am, yours truly,
A. O. Tate
Private Secretary.
