Dear Sir:- I beg to submit to you the enclosed brief statement of some of the inventions brought out by you during the present year. Will this be suitable to send to Mr. Rob’t. Grimshaw, whose letter I attach hereto? Please return the statement to the Laboratory with your remarks, and very much oblige Yours respectfully, Thomas Maguire INFORMATION FOR ROBERT GRIMSHAW CONCERNING EDISON’S WORK DURING 1891. FOR INCORPORATION IN A [REPORT?] OF SCIENTIFIC PROGRESS TO BE PUBLISHED BY THE [illegible text] KINETOGRAPH An instrument intended to reproduce sound and motion simultaneously, being a combination of a specially constructed camera and a phonograph. The Kinetograph will do for the eye what the phonograph does for the ear. Or this The Kinetograph is an instrument which registers photographically different phases of motion and produces the same in order to give an elusive effect of true motion; combined with the phonograph this instrument gives the complex sensation of vision and sound. ELECTRIC RAILWAY New system for electric railways which will do away with the trolley wire. Especially adapted for large cities where overhead wires are prohibited. 200 VOLT LAMP which effects a great saving in copper. SHOW SPEED AND LIGHT WEIGHT FAU MOTORS, at small cost. ELECTRIC LIGHT METERS for registering consumption of current with accuracy. IMPROVED MONITORING SYSTEM OF ELECTRIC LIGHTING. ENGINE REDUCTION ELECTRIC MOTOR FOR RAILROADS: applicable in either the trolley or underground system. [illegible text]
