Major S. B. Eaton,
Edison Building,
Broad Street,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
Referring to Mr. Tate’s letter to you of 20th instant in regard to U. S. patent No. 213,598, for improvement in machine separating magnetic substances from grain, controlled by C. J. Reed, please take no further action with relation [thereto?].
It will be unnecessary to have the patent examined at Washington, and I would therefore ask that you cancel the instruction which you have given in connection therewith, as I do not wish to incur any expense in the matter.
Yours truly,
Thomas A. Edison
