My dear Sir:-
I take pleasure in handing to you herewith a letter of introduction from Mr. Edison to Mr. C.L. Edgar, the Gen’l Manager of the Edison Electric Illuminating Co. of Boston. I shall be very glad if you will be good enough to make use of this and inspect the meter which is being tested in Mr. Edgar’s station. We are receiving excellent reports of the operation of these meters from the various stations where they are on trial, all of which data are being preserved. When next you come to New York I would like to have you visit the Laboratory. If you will advise me a day or two beforehand I will arrange to meet you in New York and bring you out.
Yours very truly,
Private Secretary
