No. 909 Walnut Street,
Philadelphia, Pa.
Dear Sir:-
Mr. Edison received your letter of 23rd instant, in regard to a lecture which you are to deliver to the Young Men's Christian Association of your city on the 14th of next month, the subject of which is to be Edison and his Inventions. By his direction I have written to the phonograph people in Philadelphia, requesting them to render you all the assistance possible in the matter. He will send you a phonograph cylinder in compliance with your request. In regard to data for your talk, I would refer you to a series of articles now appearing in "Cassier's Magazine" (Publication Office, Potter Bldg., New York), on Edison and his Inventions, from which I am sure you could compile excellent material; they are based upon notes furnished by Mr. Edison himself, and the information contained in them is therefore authentic.
Yours truly,
Private Secretary.
