T. J. Smith, Esq.,
The E. S. Greeley & Co.,
#5 & 7 Dey St., New York.
Dear Sir:-
If Consul Garcia has not yet left for Guatemala, Mr. Edison will be pleased to have him visit the Laboratory at Orange, N. J., on any day which he may find it convenient to do so.
I regret the delay which has occured in sending you this notification, but it was unavoidable. Mr. Edison has been absent and it was found impracticable to bring the matter of your request to his attention earlier than yesterday.
Yours truly,

Private Secretary.
