Orange, N. J., July 31st, 1893 J. W. Gladstone, Esq., Manager, Edison Manufacturing Co., 110 E. 23rd Street, New York. Dear Sir:-- With reference to your Financial Report for the week ending July 27th, 1893, Mr. Edison wishes to be informed in regard to the order which you have on hand for meters, amounting to $9181.75. He complains that you are not sufficiently specific with respect to this item, the term "meters" being somewhat vague. Mr. Edison wishes to have stated in future reports exactly the class of meters for which you have orders, and in fact you cannot be too specific in connection with any of the items included in our weekly reports, as Mr. Edison wants full information in regard to them all. Yours very truly, Thomas Maguire
