October 27th, 1893. Edison Phonograph Works, Orange, N. J. Gentlemen:-- We are having a good deal of trouble with sapphire knives lately received from the Works. We have today placed three new ones in succession on our paring-off machine in the shipping room without finding one with a cutting edge. Will you kindly look into the matter and advise us as to the cause of the trouble. Yours very truly, AO Tate Vice-President. [M?]
