January 12th 1894 Acme Coal Cy. Drexel Building Philadelphia Penna Dear Sirs: We beg to confirm our telegram to you as follows- "Must have coal by Erie Railroad. make the order six cars instead of four” signed Thos A. Edison The reason we want the coal shipped by the Erie Railroad is that we have a switch from their tracks into our yard and if it was shipped by the D.L and W. R.R. we would have to cart it over a mile and the cartage would be to expensive. As there have been as many changes here with clerks we are afraid our orders have been mixed up- and we enclose you herewith an order for six cars and ask you to please cancel all other orders which you have received and greatly oblige Yours truly Thos. A. Edison R[andolph].
