Dear Sir
Your favor of 2nd, also that of AM & Co enclosing draft for $2500 are at hand, kindly accept thanks for remittance — Replying to your letter would say as already stated, that it will be quite a serious matter to me if you do not manage in some way to live up to the last schedule, as I have already cut it down for this and next month, considering my payments to a point where any reduction from it will hurt.
Last summer when your needs were pressing, as mine are now I sold my best bonds and mortgaged my laboratory to raise money for you and I sincerely trust you will arrange in some way to help me out now. Payments made so far only a little more than cover advances made on fibre, When Mr Mallory was in your city it was stated that if necessary you might sell the fibre and with the proceeds pay up in part I presume you could still do this if necessary Regarding notes I cannot use them for reasons already explained —
I hope to hear from you by return mail that you will be able to help me out as per schedule for this and next month, am depending on amount due 12th prox for pay roll.
Yours truly
Thomas A Edison
