Feb 21st 4 Alex Elliott Jr Esq Paterson N. J. Dear Sir:- Mr Edison made the following memorandum on your letter of the 20th inst:- “It may be impossible for me to go over the tract with Carter but Mr Conley could go over it with him. How would it do for him to come to Laboratory and I could show him the Magnetic Map and talk it over. We [trading?] on the basis that the map is correct and could arrange for Lehman or Kayser to go up with him and take needle and verify it in any spot in his presence.” Yours truly J. F. Randolph
