Feb 1 97 Lewis Miller Esq Akron. Ohio. My dear Mr Miller:- We have had lately great success in taking maleable iron castings and Case Hardening them, they are as hard as Crucible Steel and the Carburetting goes in 3/8 of an inch. There is a concern at Reading that done it for us, if there are any maleable castings you want as hard and tough as steel send it on to Mr Mallory and we will see if the party can do it.
