New York
Dear Sir:-
Your favor of the 27th ult, regarding a retainer from the General Electric Company came duly to hand and in reply I beg to state that I could get along with One thousand dollars per month during February, March, April and May and Eight hundred dollars per month during June, July, August and September.
After that I hope to either succeed with the filament or come to a further understanding as to whether the experiments shall be continued or not and the amount which will be allowed.
The people at Schenectady have not sent me anything for the month of January which would be acceptable at the present time.
Yours truly.
Thomas A Edison
