Dear Sir:-
In reply to your favor of the 22nd inst, I beg to state that my wife and I executed a mortgage in favor of Mr. Thomas A. Edison Jr for five years dated September 30_1897 on property situated in Belleville and Bloomfield New Jersey for Eleven thousand one hundred and seventy five dollars also executed a Bond in connection with said Mortgage amounting to twenty two thousand three hundred and fifty dollars. The mortgage bears interest at the rate of six percent per annum payable monthly and the interest has been paid in full to September 30_1898. I expect to pay the mortgage when it becomes due.
