May, 20th. 1899 Mossberg & Granville Mfg Co., Providence, R.I. Dear Sirs: Yours 18th fully noted, we herewith return print on which we have made a sketch showing the conditions under which the roller bearings will be used. The cylinder has an area of 33 square inches and we will use 50 pounds pressure, giving 1350 pounds pressure on the piston head, the reciprocating parts are very light, the shaft will run 100 revolutions. We also give quality of the material as requested, if you think it desirable we can put a steel sleeve inside the cast iron as shown, please advise. We find we can get along with two of “A” solid and two split, and others as specified. If you can furnish your bearings to cover the conditions, please fill in the dimensions for which we ask, and also state price and time of delivery, if you cannot furnish them please telegraph us so we may make other arrangements and so not delay our work. Yours very truly.
