Elihu Thomson, Esq.,
General Electric Co.,
Lynn, Mass.
My dear Mr. Thomson:
I have your letter of the 17th, which has remained unanswered due to my absence from town. I am not acquainted with the young ,man to whom you refer, Mr. Letheule, nor the publication to which he has reference. I have adopted a rule not to allow my name to be used in connection with anything, unless I am familiar with it, and I regret, therefore, that I cannot make an exception in his case. I would much prefer not to have my name associated with the publication. I have never heard anything from him directly, and your communication is the first I have received on the subject.
Yours very truly,
Thos A. Edison
