Title
[LM013218], Letter from Samuel Insull to O W Jackson, Savannah Florida and Western Railway Co, December 17th, 1886
Editor's Notes
Have yours of 22 Nov.; my absence from the city caused delayed reply; we don't work the phonoplex over 130 [?] miles; to equip your lines, we would need to use five separate lines: Savannah to Waycross; Waycross to Jacksonville; Waycross to Gainesville; Waycross to Thomasville; Thomasville to Albany; we would claim royalty on each of the five circuits; if this can't be done now, could wire direct from Savannah to all of the above-named offices except Waycross, which is too far; only way the phon-- could be transferred from one wire to the next is by varying the same instruments on the wire the phone is on, which could be easily done
