Title
[LM022077], Letter from Charles Patterson Bruch to Ezra Torrance Gilliland, August 20th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"I have written the attached letter from Mr. McCutcheon's dictation. ### It appears that the N. A. P. Co. propose to carry out your contract only to the extent of giving him the privilege of organizing a sub-company; a privilege that could probably have been obtained in any case. He does not appear to be willing to go into the business on those terms, as he considers it merely a stock-jobbing operation which he would be loath to induce his friends to invest in – and that the opportunities for legitimate profit would be small. ### McGuire was here to see Lippincott [unclear], with General Raum to back him. He mentioned in Miss Wyman's hearing his intention to use in conjunction with his contract a letter in which you had stated the terms upon which it was proposed to furnish the machines. I have not heard how he came out." Yours, CP Bruch
