Title
[LM111034], Letter from Arthur Edwin Kennelly to Frank Seymour Hastings, Edison Electric Light Co, August 8th, 1888
Editor's Notes
In reference to your kind letter of the 8th inst. About which I spoke to yesterday by telephone. I may say that we have ourselves removed our own dynamos and apparatus from Columbia College, but that Mr Chinnock's men will I understand replace the machinery disarranged there.####Mr Brown told me that you promised to leave our voltmeter at the Columbia College in case of Dr Lundy who needs one. I find that this particular voltmeter, (a municipal registering from 300 to 1450 volts) is of little value to Dr Landy who desire an instrument indicating between 0 and 60-. This means a less expensive indicator than ours which is most useful to us having been specially altered and arranged for our work. Considering all this I would suggest that the Edison Co should order####[page 15]####a voltmeter of the kind Dr Landy desires, for Columbia College especially as that gentleman and those with him were I believe very c------ to Mr Brown and the exhibition certainly did good service to the Edison Electric Light interest. We have taken one back here. ####The magnets tell you mentioned has been given to Mr Chinnock's representative.####I remain####Dear Sir####Yours very truly####A.E. Kennelly.####
