Title
[LM111138], Letter from Arthur Edwin Kennelly to Memphis (Tenn). Mayor, September 26th, 1888
Editor's Notes
[I think this letter is from Edison but written by Kennelly and probably from late September - see Yellow Fever Scrapbook SB018 - PI] You may perhaps have seen in the papers [lately?] that I have been experimenting upon the subject o organism destroyers and disinfectants particularly with a view to isolated centres of yellow fever and the possibility of extinguishing it in such cases. I enclose a copy of a letter that has been kindly sent to me by a gentleman who appears to be a lawyer and as such likely to be one who weighs evidence before he states it. It is of great importance to know whether the facts are or rather were as he states. You would be conferring a great favor if you would let me know how far evidence can be brought in support of his letter, and perhaps be assisting in finding some practical means of destroying a disease which is alike [rest of letter too light to be legible – see original]
