Title

[LM111332] Patent Application, January 30th, 1889

Editor's Notes

Improvements in Electrolytic Meters####This improvement consists in reducing or preventing the ------- of the metal plates to tarnish in the electrolytic solution by the application of heat to the plates solution or both, in such a manner that the oxygen dissolved -- the solution or occluded beneath the metal surfaces may be expelled to a sufficient degree to prevent the formation of oxygen compounds with the metal on the surface of the plates thus tending to maintain a constant resistance in the bottle and except a uniform weight for its plates except so far as these may be altered by the electrolytic action of the meter.####For this purpose the electrolytic solution may be heated or maintained at boiling point for the length of time necessary to expel its dissolved gases and the plates may be also heated separately or in solution with the same object
