- Editor's Notes
- ####[page 193]####6th May 89####Professor Eggleston####Dear Sir#####The bearer Mr Lehmann returns you the fine collection of mineral section you were so kind as to place out Mr Edison's disposal. I would have returned them in person had not an unlucky accident yesterday rendered my taking the trip impossible--illustrating the complete watchfulness of the providence, which to ride on Sunday, is to s---k.####The specifmens are all in good order and we took great care of them except one--the ----- quartz which slipped through our fingers in polishing and got unhappily chipped in the fall. We have already ordered another to replace it as that we trust to make amends honorable:####The results obtained with the quartz plates have been as interesting that we should be anxious to retain the use of two other sections besides the ones we are --phering.####If you would extend this permission you would be conferring an additional favor####Mr Edison desires me to express his best thanks to you for your courtesy####Yours very truly####A.E. Kennelly.####
