Editor's Notes
####[page 201]####18th May 89####Mr Batchelor####Dear Sir####Platinoid wire no 35 5WG 0.006 " will have a resistance of about 10 ohms to the foot, so that you will require a spool of some seventeen feet in the main circuit and another of four or five feet in the armature circuit the latter to be adjustable for varying voltages.####A cross of 4 " [art] will if made of 3/- " wood take one foot to the complete hour and with turns apart would be 4 1/2 " deep, for the main coil, the shorter length could be wound on a cross of 1 " for convenience in picking out the right connection points. It would then take about 3" to the t---- and with turns 1/[4?] " apart would be about 4 1/2" long####Yours faithfully####A.E. Kennelly####
