[LM302053], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Kansas City St Joseph Council Bluffs Railroad, Isaac Tillman Dyer, December 27th, 1889
Editor's Notes
Dear Sir:-- In reply to your letter of 19thinstant,the Edison-Lalande battery is being used by us now for phonoplex to the entire exclusion of the old chromic acid cell. On one of your phonoplex circuits on the lines of the Pennsylvania Railroad, at Altoona, eight of the Edison-Lalande cells worked the coilfor over three months. We can furnish these at $2.25 per cell complete, exclusive of boxes. We make boxes to hold from 4 to 8 cells, but perhaps these would not be necessary in your offices. Theprice which I have named for the Edison-Lalande cell is 25[%?] less than the price charged by us for the chomic acid cells. Yours very truly A O Tate Electrician
