Title
[MB102], Letter from Joshua Franklin Bailey to Charles Batchelor, December 14th, 1883
Editor's Notes
[from London] I don't write Rau any details of Swan matters (it's mostly our concern, and proposals change daily). My latest proposition to Forbes is 1/3 royalty and 10% parts of founders shares, but they want equal division of royalty on lamps & no parts founders. Rehearses other terms he might propose, in Bailey-esque detail. Will be here til Tues or Wed; "I am chained to the business like a galley slave." Think we can quickly fuse the 3 companies and establish new co., but don't think you'll be able to leave in Jan; maybe in March. PLEASE don't accept a Chief Engineer you don't believe in just so you can get out.
