Title
[MB140], Letter from Mr Szarvady to Charles Batchelor, August 25th, 1884
Editor's Notes
Lots of personal stuff. Have been offered position as chief engineer of an electrical business. First 100 light dynamo gave 110 volts at 1800 rpm, heated to 85 degrees after 2 hours. German Co. thought it was too much; made another with 1000 turns that heats just the same. Surpised, found that running without current heated it to 65 degrees in few hours. The 200 and 500 light machines both heat too much. I send you your notebook that you left at laboratory. Our compound dynamos work beautifully; any orders for them? My bro-in-law, who you met, sailing to NYC on behalf of Lumiere Electrique.
