- working last month on telephone; those Murray making very good but trouble getting them loud enough; made six or eight new principles. three being made by Phelps [see TAE to Orton 11/17 from WU material]; "it is Edison's intention to make `the' telephone that will work under all conditions"; G&S wires create problems not experienced by isolated wires and very difficult to get anything at all on Bell so Bliss sees difficulty contending with
