Title
[MBLB4356], Letter from Charles Batchelor to Sherburne Blake Eaton, October 28th, 1882
Editor's Notes
Yours of 10/27 rcd--will be glad to help. Rcd from Bailey your letter of instructions but not the 3 letters for Porges you referred to, and Bailey can't find them. Brunn theater installation is complete; I'm leaving for there tonight to start it working. Porges says he received right to lay underground wires in best part of City of Pari, occupying a territory of 2 square km. "This is a great thing for us, and I do not doubt but we shall very shortly commence a central station in this section of the city. I do not hesitate to say that we can get in this section 40,000 lights, of which from 1/2 to 3/4 an average burning time of 7 h ours per night.
