made test to try to standardize carbonization process and resistances of those carbonized, points from which to draw conclusion 1 middle one always highest resistance, all lengths of time in carb give good ones, all heats give good ones; preceding same day tried mould of two plates of carbon from Condit-Hansen batty; problem too high resistance; make some lamps circular shape so, break out piece between clamps; table of 200-230 but only trhough 209 entered; and following lamps 200 and 202 had been burning about 4 hours on Dec 16 and one hour on Dec 17 when both busted as in sketch Upton suggests it may be in the focus of the curve of the gas burning about 5 or 6 gas jets
