Editor's Notes

Conductor calculations for 1st district, block by block. Voltage drops. 1st page: "I propose as a system to carry around each square a wire of uniform size, so that only 2.5 volts shall be lost in the wire. Also to connect in the interior each distributing point with the other points so that there will be a fall of 2.5 volts along the distributing wires. The increase of weight to making the cable of uniform size is 1.165 times a smuch as when it is decreasing." pp. 136-145 about lamps: "200 hours each lamp for fifty cts 200/8 = 22.2 hours for a H.P..for lamp 11 2/3 cts per M" Apparently trying to come up w/ reln btwn first cost and operating cost. Then back to block calcs. 153-163: "Data from which the preceeding calculations are made"
