Title
[NB056024], Technical Note, Arthur Edwin Kennelly, Charles Summer Wirt, October 8th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"Meter Experiments Contd:" "Collected 500 cc of 30% solution of [illeg] added 250 cc of H2O to get 750 cc of 20% solution." Table follows: time, plates, bridge, resistance, max, 2 illeg headings. A few voltmeter observations. Page 25 [same date] "Phonograph Factory Blower Trials." "The motor at the factory is so geared that when its armature makes 1000 revs per min, the line of shafting makes 200. Then the pulley on the shaft for driving the blower" is geared to produce 2300 rpm at blower. Describes what sounds like a shuttered ventilation shaft; gives table of current, voltage, HP, rpm of blower, width of shutter opening, [illeg], and pressure (ounces). [P. 26] "Record of blast pressures at Phonograph Works on the occasion of the first trial at casting." Table: number, time, amps, motor HP, slit (vent louver?), air pressure. [P. 27] Meter experiments contd.
