See Pat 379,770 about reducing radiating surface with high resistance. Some alternatives follow on next frame. After a few junk genrator sketches, "method of making filament of carbon def candlepower and resis" (see Pat 264,653: re electroplating a portion of the filament in order to obtain specific candlepower/resis)
