- It is reported that the breach between TAE and Tomlinson is a consequence of a "misunderstanding in regard to the contract of sale transferring the phonograph to a stock company."##"The invention seems to be on the verge of becoming a very valuable property." TAE intention was to put them on the market cheaper than the typewriter. So bitter is the division between TAE and Tomlinson that they will not even communicate with each other.
