- "Mr. Edison has recently been granted a patent for the multiple arc system for distributing electricity for lights, which if upheld will give him absolute control of the incandescent system in this country. One effect of the granting of this patent is to be seen in the beginning of a combination between all the othe rcompanies to fight for existence. The Westinghouse and Thomson-Houston companies, perhaps the stronges of them, have already pooled issues, and it is thought all the others will come in. The reult will probably be a series of great lawsuits...."
