[Sunbury] "Yours of 22 instant is before me. My engagement here is bounded more by results than by time, thus it is difficult to determine of what date I can leave here. Provided I can finish by May 1st. I may have two or even four months to space (before acceptence a position which will pay me better than [Newburg?] possibly can) which I shall be glad to place at your service in case you can to make a temporary or provisional engagements with me. Frankly, I don't thing Newburg can afford to pay one within 50% of what are average in the line I am at or expect to get. Perhaps John can explain my situation more intelligently than I can by letter. Let me know if a [rest of the letter is faded out]
